Exporting Flight Plans to the Garmin
430W/530W/G1000 UnitsVoyager flight plans can now be
exported to many Garmin panel-mounted GPS units.
Requirements
Hardware
- Garmin GNC 430W / 530W, with version 3.20 and later
(available through your avionics support shop) or
- Garmin G1000 / G900X / G950: GDU software version 9.10
and later
Note:
Flight Plans cannot be transferred to NON – WAAS GNC 430 /
530 units.
For the 430W/530W

Note: This is NOT the same as the Jeppesen Skybound
device. This feature does not work with the Jeppesen
Skybound device.

Garmin GNC 430W/530W Flightplan Card (Part Number
011-00460-45)
For the G1000

A standard SD card (not SDHD). Garmin recommends
SanDisk brand cards.

A computer with a built-in SD card slot or a standard SD
card reader/writer. Garmin suggests the SandDisk
SDDR-99 or
Garmin Part Number 013-00203-00.
Software
Usage
For the G1000 / G900X / G950
Export from Voyager
- Insert the SD card into the computer or card reader.
- Start Voyager
- Create or open a Voyager flight plan as usual.
- Select Send to Device or Application from
Voyager's File menu.
- Select the Garmin GPS Panel option.
- Use the Browse button or type a file path and
name to a location at the root (that is, not in any
folder/directory) of the SD card and click OK.
Import into the GPS
- Ensure the G1000 / G900X / G950 is off.
- Insert the SD card into open slot 3.
- Turn on the unit.
- The unit will upload flight plan and prompt you for
actions.
For the GNS 430W / 530W
Export from Voyager
- Start Voyager
- Create or open a Voyager flight plan as usual.
- Select Send to Device or Application from
Voyager's File menu.
- Select the Garmin GPS Panel option.
- Use the Browse button or type a file path and
name to a location you'll remember such as your Desktop.
- Plug the Garmin USB Data Card Programmer into your
computer with the Flight Plan Card.
- Activate the Garmin Flight Plan Migrator.
- Follow prompts and transfer flight plan to the card.
Import into the GPS
- Ensure that the GNS 430W / 530W is off.
- Remove the Terrain and Obstacle data card that is in
the right-hand slot.
- Insert the Flight Plan Card into the right-hand slot.
- Turn the unit on.
- Follow any on-screen prompts as the unit should
automatically find and load the flight plan.
- Turn the unit off again.
- Replace the Terrain and Obstacle data card into the
right-hand slot.
- Turn the unit back on.
