Does SmartPlates work with iOS 10? OS 9?

SmartPlates & Charts is designed and tested for iOS 7 or later. It does not run on older versions of the operating system.

How much does it cost?

SmartPlates & Charts is a free add-on for current FlyQ EFB subscribers. Otherwise, we have two annual subscription levels: The VFR subscription, US$ 29.99, give you seamless Sectionals for all 50 US states and geo-referenced airport diagams for about 700 airports. The IFR + VFR subscription, US$ 49.99, has everything in the VFR subscription plus IFR Low and High Altitude Enroute Charts plus geo-referenced approach plates, SIDs, STARs, MINs, etc.

Does it run on the iPad? iPhone?

Yes and yes. SmartPlates & Charts works on both the iPad and the iPhone from a single download. The user-interface varies a little between the two to make the most of both form factors.

Android version?

Sorry but no. At this time, SmartPlates & Charts is available only for iOS devices.

I'm a Canadian pilot. Any Canadian data?

The app is mostly for US flying. At this time, there is no Canadian data.

How is this different than FlyQ EFB or FlyQ Pocket?

SmartPlates & Charts includes maps (charts), airport diagrams, and plates as well as airport information. FlyQ Pocket has no maps or plates but includes weather and flight planning as well as airport information. Both run on the iPhone or iPad but SmartPlates is optimized for the iPad while FlyQ Pocket is not. SmartPlates & Charts makes a superb iPhone backup for FlyQ EFB as it's free to current FlyQ EFB subscribers. It offers the most essential elements of flying -- maps, plates, airport info -- on both the iPhone and iPad for an extremely affordable price. SmartPlates does not have as many features as FlyQ EFB as the app is strictly limited to maps (VFR and IFR), geo-referenced approach procedures, and very basic airport info. It has very little weather info, no flight planning, does not use ADS-B receivers, etc.

I have a Seattle Avionics Voyager account but it doesn't seem to work here

SmartPlates & Charts is free to existing FlyQ EFB subscribers. Subscribers to other Seattle Avionics products or ChartData offerings will require a separate SmartPlates & Charts subscription.

How about countries other than the United States?

We're sorry but SmartPlates is really just for flying within the United States; it has no data for other countries.
