Seattle Avionics and ForeFlight Bring Geo-referenced Approach Plates and Taxi Diagrams to ForeFlight Mobile for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch
Seattle, WA – February 20, 2011 – Seattle Avionics announced today that the newest version of ForeFlight Mobile (version 3.9) includes a new optional subscription that uses Seattle Avionics ChartData™ to display aircraft position on approach plates and airport diagrams.
“As ForeFlight developed the geo-referencing capabilities in version 3.9, I watched how their team concentrates on every detail of a new feature to make it as intuitive and useful as possible. It is extremely impressive and I am sure this focus is a key reason for their success in the marketplace,” said Steve Podradchik, CEO of Seattle Avionics. “We share ForeFlight’s commitment to quality and attention to details, which is why we were successful in achieving FAA certification of our ChartDatatm for use in approach certified avionics such as the Aspen Evolution system. The combination of ForeFlight Mobile HD and our ChartData is a great step forward for pilots using iOS devices.”
“When the team decided to implement geo-referenced charts, we demanded nothing less than the best possible implementation for iOS devices,” said Tyson Weihs, co-founder of ForeFlight. “We set out to find a partner that could help us deliver best of breed. We found Seattle Avionics’ quality control and geo-referencing processes was what we wanted. Their team was also up to the challenge of working with us through the many iterations we require to achieve the level of quality, performance, and overall user experience we enjoy creating.”
ForeFlight Mobile HD Pro is priced at $149.95 per year. It includes ForeFlight HD’s standard features and adds the new geo-referenced ChartData from Seattle Avionics.
